A minor girl was raped on her way back from school after attending the Independence Day celebration in Chandigarh on Tuesday. The incident took place at a children's park located near her residence. On the basis of the victim's statement, police have registered a case of rape against an unknown person under various sections of IPC besides the POSCO Act. The accused is still absconding. Investigation into the case is on.
